چکیده
Gymnema sylvestre (GS) has been traditionally used to treat diabetes mellitus (DM) and consumed as both food medicine. The present work aimed reveal the arresting hypoglycemic properties of GS leaves on type 2 DM (T2DM) rats meditated by gut microbiota pathway. After administration for 30 days, treatment observably improved abnormal fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels, lipid profiles, tolerance T2DM in a dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, reversibly restored diversities based decreased Firmicute abundance boosted Bacteroidetes Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio. Particularly, KEGG pathway suggested that strongly interfered with metabolism processes, such glycolysis from 6-phosphate glucose, along changes relative abundances beneficial bacteria Clostridium, Lactobacillus, Bacteroides. In addition, dramatically promoted contents acetic acid, total short-chain fatty acids rat feces. This study showcased remarkable amelioration metabolic disorders lipids via regulation rats, which could offer new mechanism potential natural antidiabetic supplement T2DM.

Persistent hyperglycemia modulates gut immune function and microbiota in rats
BACKGROUND Since hyperglycemia-induced cellular dysfunction could be associated with alterations of the immune system, we tested the hypothesis that hyperglycemia augments the aberrant immune responses such as inflammation and differentiation of CD4(+) T lymphocytes in the mesenteric lymph nodes (MLNs), and induces alterations of microbiota both under physiological and pathological conditions. ...
متن کاملGut Microbiota-Dependent Trimethylamine-N-oxide and Serum Biomarkers in Patients with T2DM and Advanced CKD
Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) is a product of dietary, gut microbiome, and tissues metabolism. Elevated blood TMAO levels are associated with heart attack, stroke and chronic kidney disease (CKD). The purpose of our study was to investigate the gut microbiota associated with trimethylamine (TMA) production, the precursor of TMAO, and the serum levels of TMAO and inflammatory biomarkers associat...

Fermented foods containing probiotic bacteria have been used for many years to improve the health or treatment of some diseases. Nowadays, the Therapeutic properties of probiotics are becoming more and more obvious to everyone, insofar as in recent years, more attention has been paid to the potential relation between gut microbiota and mental health. Several studies have shown that intestinal m...
متن کاملadministration of lactobacillus casei and bifidobacterium bifidum ameliorated hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and oxidative stress in diabetic rats
background: the present work was planned to evaluate the antihyperglycemic, lipid‑lowering, and antioxidant effect of lactobacillus casei and bifidobacterium bifidum in streptozotocin (stz)‑induced diabetic rats. methods: single daily dose of 1 × 107 cfu/ml of l. casei and b. bifidum alone and in combination of both was given to wistar rats orally by gavaging for 28 days. glucose tolerance test...
